Premier League club Ipswich Town are also in the race to sign the Birmingham City midfielder. By the looks of it, The Tractor Boys have a one-division advantage over Leeds to sign Jordan but The Whites have got something that Ipswich Town doesn’t have says

“I think Leeds are a bigger club than Ipswich who he has been linked, with regardless of league status. You see the history of the club, the size of their fan base and their recent history as well.”

“Obviously, they were in the Premier League only a couple of years ago, so, I do think it would be a massive club for him to go to and a great club for him to play for.”

On paper the choice is clear, most footballers would opt to play for Ipswich as they currently ply their trade in the English top flight. But when you look deeper, in the long run, Leeds have a better chance of being promoted and cementing their spot in the Premier League.

Historically as well, The Whites have been a bigger and better club than The Tractor Boys. Since their league title win in the 2019/20 season, Leeds have played three times in the top-flight. They have also finished top six in their last three campaigns.

Ipswich on the other hand will be playing in the Premier League for the first time in 22 years. Their uncertainty over the top-flight title might lead Jordan to rethink the offers he has on the table. Even if Ipswich stays in the Premier League, Leeds are the favorites to win promotion this season, barely losing out in the finals last season.Yunus Akgun of Leicester City in action with Jordan James of Birmingham City Leicester City v Birmingham City, Emirates

On the game front, the West Yorkshire outfit has become popular for developing players like Archie Gray who moved to Tottenham this season. The English teen played 52 times in his debut-first team campaign proving the importance of youth development at Elland Road. While Ipswich might have a short-term advantage over Leeds, The Whites’ long-term goals and focus on youth far outscore The Tractor Boys’.
