Brighton look set to beat West Ham to sign Diego Gomez from Inter Miami for £15million, according to the Sunday Express.
The newspaper reported on 4 August that the Seagulls appear to have won the race to sign the Paraguay international.
The Hammers were interested in the 21-year-old for £15m but Brighton now looks “ready to confirm his arrival” after the Olympics.
West Ham to miss out on Diego Gomez to Brighton
Julen Lopetegui has had a busy week in the transfer market with plenty of fresh faces coming through the doors at the London Stadium.
Crysencio Summerville has already confirmed a deal from Leeds United with medical tests set to take place for other signings.

As a result, it may not be as frustrating to miss out on signing Gomez from Inter Miami, although losing out to a Premier League rival will sting.
The versatile midfielder has taken the headlines for the MLS side playing alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
The Paraguayan has also caught the eye at the Paris Olympics for his nation, scoring a goal and providing two assists in four games.
Gomez could prove to be an excellent signing for Brighton but it is yet to be seen whether the Hammers will regret to miss out on him.
