'I've Just Spoken To The Club' - Keith Wyness drops HUGE Everton news todayFormer Everton and Aston Villa CEO Keith Wyness believes the Premier League will be keeping tabs on Newcastle United’s transfer dealings.

His comments come after the Magpies sold Elliot Anderson to Nottingham Forest for £35million. As part of the deal, Tricky Trees goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos moved to St James’ Park and allegations of FFP/PSR gerrymandering emerged.

Earlier this window, the Premier League handed Chelsea a warning for using the FFP loophole. Business with Aston Villa saw Ian Maatsen leave for £37.5 million leave and youngster Omari Kellyman come the other way.

Clubs have been placed under intense scrutiny to comply with regulations since Everton and Nottingham Forest were dealt points deductions last season. One consequence of the current rules causes offloading academy products to be incentivised – hence Anderson’s sale.

Speaking to Football Insider, ex-Toffees chief Wyness urged caution from Newcastle – insisting the Premier League will be watching intently. He said: “These FFP signings are going to be frowned upon. If they can maintain sensible valuations, then everyone will be okay with it. 'I've Just Spoken To The Club' - Keith Wyness drops HUGE Everton news today

“It’s fair to let clubs trade players. We know there may be a hint of PSR, but if you’ve got assets, why can’t you trade them? But when it starts becoming ridiculous, like trying to sell a player for £50million when he’s played once – that would be a problem.
