TBR Football understands that West Ham United are continuing to wait on Jean-Clair Todibo in the hope that his move to Juventus fails to happen.
Juventus have agreed terms with Todibo, however, they have not come to an agreement with Nice and are struggling to do so.
Juventus stalling on Jean-Clair Todibo deal
TBR understands Juve are still some way off getting near £33m and Nice have made it clear they won’t accept less.
Todibo insists that he only wants to join Juventus at this point, but Nice have informed him that they will not sanction his sale to Juventus unless they match those terms.
That leaves the door open for The Hammers to potentially hijack a deal, though, they’ll have to put forward a convincing pitch to the 24-year-old.
Jean-Clair Todibo statistics
Todibo’s FBref statistics make for really impressive reading, so it’s little surprise to see so many top clubs linked with his signature.
The Frenchman ranks in the top four per cent for successful take-ons per 90 compared to his positional peers around Europe, evincing his exceptional ball-playing ability.
He also sits in the top four per cent for passes completed, only applying that notion.
Not only that, Todibo is a dominant defender, too, ranking in the top 17 per cent for tackles made, so West Ham would certainly be getting the ‘complete’ (per Jacek Kulig) package if they were to land his signature.
