Logan Costa Is a Real Beast Defender 2024ᴴᴰWest Ham United quite clearly have a very good chance of signing centre-back Logan Costa in the summer transfer window.

West Ham are said to be leading the race to sign the 23-year-old Cape Verde international from Toulouse this summer.

And it has been suggested that the Hammers will need to pay around £18 million to secure the signing of Logan Costa.

Julen Lopetegui is well-known to be on the hunt for at least one more centre-back, after some disastrous defensive performances during pre-season so far.

Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd quite simply cannot be relied upon anymore, and the good news is that Lopetegui is clearly thinking along the same lines.

The question is, who will be West Ham’s new centre-back signing? Well, there is one man out there who’s begging to join us…

Big Logan Costa to West Ham twist

The 23-year-old defender was in fine form for Toulouse last season.

So it’s no surprise really that he has emerged as such a highly sought-after player this summer.

The Hammers could really do with a player like the Toulouse ace in my opinion, especially for the quoted fee of just £18 million.

Now it seems like if Lopetegui really does want the centre-back, signing him shouldn’t be an issue whatsoever.

According to a report from TuttoBolognaWeb, Costa is literally just waiting for West Ham to make a move for him, before he discusses terms with Bologna.

Surely the Hammers have to move for the Toulouse defender now, given the desperate need to sign another centre-back.Logan Costa Is a Real Beast Defender 2024ᴴᴰ

Kurt Zouma could be Dubai bound, and Lopetegui urgently requires a new central defender to partner Max Kilman.

And as far as I’m concerned, Logan Costa would be an excellent option for us.

The 6ft 3in centre-back is a real physical specimen, and he’d be a superb partner for Max Kilman at the London Stadium.

In 31 Ligue 1 outings for Toulouse last season, the 23-year-old averaged 1.3 tackles, 3.8 clearances and 2.1 successful aerial duels per game.

During those appearances he made 56.5 passes per game on average and recorded a completion rate of 84.1% (Who Scored).

He possesses impressive pace, is very strong in the challenge, and is at an age where he will only keep getting better over the next decade.Logan Costa Is a Real Beast Defender 2024ᴴᴰ

£18 million for those kind of attributes sounds like good value to me.

Now, all that remains to be seen is whether or not West Ham will actually make a firm offer for Logan Costa.
