Archie Gray: The next generation of the Gray dynasty by Joe Blackburn | Football Talent Scout

LEEDS UNITED SET TO LOOSE THEIR SENSATIONAL YOUNG PROSPECT TO TOTTENHAM….

All the hype has so far surrounded Archie Gray in terms of a young player breaking in at Leeds United this season but younger brother Harry is one to keep an eye on – according to The Athletic’s Phil Hay.

Older brother Archie, at still an incredibly tender age of 17, has been fantastic. On Saturday, he played on the right of the defence – out of position – but was still arguably the best player on the pitch for us.

It is taking the headlines away from younger brother Harry, who is beginning to garner a reputation in the Under-18’s already – at just 14. He made his debut last week in a 4-3 loss to Sunderland, as a sub.

He came off the bench, scoring on Wearside. Then, on Saturday, he started and finished for the 18’s in a 3-1 loss to Wolves – but nabbed his second goal for Leeds. Clearly, Leeds have another family talent.

The Gray bloodline is incredibly strong. Elland Road legend Eddie Gray a Great Uncle, Archie and Harry’s Grandfather Frank Gray and their dad, Andy – all played for Leeds. Now, Archie and Harry. Hay said:

“I mean, Harry is another one they’ve been talking about for a long time as looking incredibly talented, masses and masses of potential. The thing you’ve seen with Archie; he manages himself really well.

“He lives as a footballer needs to. A proper professional even though he’s so young. He seems driven to develop and get better which I suspect is in the Gray genes. Big things expected of both of them.”

Archie broke through ahead of his time and now, not even 15 – Harry is scoring goals for the 18’s. It is quite incredible – not only Harry’s early breakthrough at this age, but also, the bloodline. Productive.

Gray, who also has four caps for England’s U15 side, will be pushing for an U21 debut at this rate if he continues to shine in the way he has done for the reserves. What a talent. Nurturing him is now key.
