Leicester City are reportedly keen on signing Fotis Ioannidis from Panathinaikos this summer, with West Ham United also interested in him.
Fotis Ioannidis is coming into the summer transfer window on the back of an impressive campaign, and Leicester City are keen on signing the 24-year-old. However, the newly-promoted Premier League club will face competition from West Ham United.
As per a report by Graeme Bailey on HITC, the Foxes have submitted an offer of around £23 million for the Greece international, and it will be interesting to see if Panathinaikos are prepared to sanction his departure.
Ioannidis scored 23 goals in all competitions last season. He could transform Leicester City in the final third. The Foxes secured promotion to the top flight earlier this summer, and they will be hoping to stay in the Premier League for a long time. They will need to improve the quality of their squad, and signing a reliable goalscorer would be ideal.
Meanwhile, West Ham United need to sign a reliable goalscorer as well. Michail Antonio and Danny Ings have been quite poor, and they need to be replaced. Ioannidis has the quality to succeed in the Premier League, and he could prove to be a useful acquisition for either of the two English clubs.
