LeicesterLeicester City are optimistic they can beat Crystal Palace in the race to land Galatasaray star Wilfried Zaha, sources have told Football Insider.

The Foxes are pushing hard to bring the 31-year-old back to the Premier League and are in advanced talks with the winger’s representatives.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (12 August) that Galatasaray want a multi-million-pound loan fee and for Zaha’s wages to be paid in full.

The Ivory Coast international reportedly missed a recent match against Hatayspor as he was involved in talks regarding a return to the Premier League.

Palace hold an interest in bringing Zaha back to Selhurst Park but sources say their interest is not as firm as Leicester’s.

Leicester confident about securing Zaha deal ahead of Crystal Palace

The Foxes are therefore confident they can secure the signature of the former Man United ace, securing a huge boost for manager Steve Cooper.

Both Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka are struggling with injuries as the start of the 2024-25 campaign approaches, making the need for attacking reinforcements urgent.

Zaha only joined Galatasaray on a free transfer last summer (2023) after the end of his Crystal Palace contract.

He scored nine goals and created three assists in 30 Super Lig matches last term and featured in the Champions League.

The 31-year-old notched 68 goals and 29 assists in 305 Premier League appearances – nearly all of which came during his second spell with Palace.
