Leeds United were casting an eye over Wolves left-back Hugo Bueno this month, but he has now completed a move to Dutch club Feyenoord on loan.
Leeds’ transfer business is far from complete as we kick off the Championship season, with depth in a couple of positions looking somewhat short.
Full-back is an area of concern with Junior Firpo and Jayden Bogle having little cover behind them for the season ahead.
Leeds were interested in signing Hugo Bueno on loan, he’s now joined Feyenoord
It was shared earlier in August by LeedsLive that Leeds were interested in signing left-back Hugo Bueno from Wolves.
The Spanish defender looked to be allowed to leave on loan this summer, and Leeds were one of the sides that looked to be keen on a move.
However, a move to Elland Road is not going to materialise, with the player now confirmed as a new signing for Dutch outfit Feyenoord:
It sees the 21-year-old spend the campaign in the Netherlands, where he will be plying his trade in the Champions League rather than the Championship if he’d have joined Leeds.
Bueno would have been too good a signing for Leeds in the Championship, as he’d start for any team in the division really.
Trying to sign him on loan was an unrealistic move and you’d expect the club have alternatives lined up that would be more viable.
With Premier League clubs now cementing their squad plans for the season, it can be reasonable expected that options open up for Leeds.
