Image for Breaking: Hammers Agree Transfer package for MidfielderWest Ham are close to agreeing on a transfer deal with French club Paris Saint-Germain for midfielder Carlos Soler. The agreement is reportedly an initial 11-month loan with an obligation to buy next season, triggering a longer-term deal believed to be five years.

According to reports this morning from Spanish media, Real Sociedad dropped out of the running for Soler, who is now set to join The Hammers instead of the Basque club.

Julen Lopetegui’s influence seems to be the deciding factor in this surprising twist, with Soler favouring a move to the Premier League.

This has prompted West Ham to up the ante by constructing a transfer deal not dissimilar to the one that brought Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice to East London.Image for Breaking: Hammers Agree Transfer package for Midfielder

The Irons’ negotiating team has done an excellent job of spreading the cost of players by deferring payments in order to creatively work around some of the FFP (Financial Fair Play) & PSR obstacles.
