According to Fabrizio Romano, Palace have submitted an offer in the region of £12 million bid, plus £2 million in add-ons to sign the 24-year-old centre-back.
Crystal Palace have submitted a formal bid to bring Wolfsburg centre-back Maxence Lacroix to Selhurst Park this summer.
The Eagles will be looking to sign a centre-back this summer after they agreed a deal to offload Joachim Andersen to Fulham.
Palace will receive a fee of around £30 million for the 28-year-old, and the money can be utilised properly in bolstering the defence.
It has been reported widely that Oliver Glasner has been looking to sign Lacroix, and Palace have now submitted a formal bid for the French defender.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Palace have submitted an offer in the region of £12 million bid, plus £2 million in add-ons to sign the 24-year-old centre-back.
This is the opening bid from the Eagles, and it’s a really good offer, considering that the player has only one year left on his contract.
Lacroix wants to leave the German club, and he is one of the main targets for Oliver Glasner.
Romano wrote on X: “Crystal Palace submit opening bid to sign Maxence Lacroix from Wolfsburg. Understand Crystal Palace proposal is worth £12m fixed fee plus £2m add-ons.
“Lacroix wants to leave Wolfsburg and has only one year left on his contract, while Glasner considers him among top targets.”
Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg claims that Crystal Palace have agreed personal terms with the defender.
Wolfsburg want him to stay at the club, but Palace are pushing hard to sign him before the transfer deadline.
Plettenberg wrote on X: “Personal terms between Maxence Lacroix and Crystal Palace are agreed as revealed! Crystal Palace, pushing to sign the 24 y/o until Deadline Day as he’s their No. 1 target! VfL Wolfsburg want him to stay!”
The problem here is Lacroix’s contract situation. Wolfsburg will want to lose him for free next summer, and therefore, they could be tempted to accept Palace’s offer, which looks like a fantastic proposal.
Palace, meanwhile, have done well to keep Marc Guehi with them, rejected several offers from Newcastle United. With Andersen all set to leave the club, Lacroix would be a terrific replacement.
