Albion’s PL2 team will be desperate to produce a reaction when they host Brighton this weekend following a disappointing start to the new season.
The young Baggies play their first home game of the 2024/25 campaign against the Seagulls on Saturday afternoon (ko 11am), and they’ll be looking to show much improvement from their last performance.
Last time out
It was a hard evening for the club’s U21s group as they fell to a 6-1 defeat away at Norwich City last Friday, with Cole Deeming scoring their only goal from a free-kick in East Anglia.
Venue
The game will be played behind closed doors at the West Bromwich Albion Training Ground.
Pre-match thoughts
Showing higher standards and a big reaction is what Professional Development Phase boss Richard Beale wants to see from his team this weekend.
He said: “It was a tough start for us against an older, more physical side.
“The lads had an off-day, unfortunately, and we paid the price for that.
“But we’ve been able to do some really good sessions this week in preparation for the game, which has been a big help for us.
“We’ve been able to work on a number of things and we’re looking forward to a reaction from the players, who know, that their standards are certainly higher than what they showed last Friday.”
How to follow
Tickets will be unavailable for Saturday’s behind closed doors Premier League 2 game against Brighton.
Owing to a first team fixture being played on the same day, a live stream will not be provided for the clash.
Fans can read the report and reaction from the match on the club’s website at full-time.
