Marco Silva says “Craven Cottage is our fortress” ahead of Leicester clash
Fulham host Leicester on Saturday for the Cottagers first home game of the new season. Head coach Marco Silva says he wants Craven Cottage to be a tough place to come for away sides.
Fulham took nine of their 13 Premier League wins at home last season, including impressive victories over the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal.
Head coach Marco Silva has spoken about the importance of that home form ahead of their clash with Leicester on Saturday afternoon.
The two teams last met in 2023, with Fulham winning 5-3.
Silva knows his side must continue to make Craven Cottage a tough place to come.
Fulham announced the signing of Sander Berge on Thursday, a well-received transfer following the departure of fan-favourite João Palhinha.
Silva insisted he is a good player in himself and not just a straight replacement.
He said: “The same position (as Palhinha), number six, but we don’t sign players just to replace others — Sander has his own qualities and he will be good for us.”
The Norwegian is unavailable for this weekend’s game but will return next week.
Silva said: “He’s not ready to start but next week he is available for both games.”
