John Wenham claims Tottenham are set to “reap the rewards” of Jack Clarke’s transfer from Sunderland to Ipswich Town.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose is a fan of players moving on from the club for low fees where a sell-on clause is included.

It comes after Ipswich Town announced the signing of Clarke from Sunderland via the club’s official website on Saturday (24 August).

As reported by BBC Sport (24 August), the fee for the transfer is £15million plus £5million in potential add-ons. Spurs included a 25 per cent sell-on clause when Clarke left the club to join Sunderland (via Alasdair Gold, 23 August).

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is delighted by this recent transfer activity.

“It looks like Tottenham are going to reap the rewards from this Clarke transfer thanks to our 25 per cent sell-on clause,” Wenham said.

“That is up to £5million they’re going to make on the player. I am therefore delighted with that.
