Liverpool look set to sign £10.9m Newcastle target but fans should be happy to miss out this timeThere’s no way we can hail this transfer window a success if Newcastle United don’t sign a new winger which is looking inevitable at this point.

A right-winger has been on many Newcastle fans’ wish list for a while now with our only real options down that flank both hangovers from the Mike Ashley days in Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy.

The two have fought like beavers for the club, we can never fault them for their commitment and effort, but their ability is lacking, at least their ability to perform consistently is.

With that in mind, when you see Liverpool about to land a winger who has been on Newcastle’s wanted list for two summers now, it does sting, especially when he’s only costing them £10.9 million.

Federico Chiesa is Liverpool-bound

Federico Chiesa was tracked all of last summer and his name kept popping up again in this window as a potential target for Newcastle.Liverpool look set to sign £10.9m Newcastle target but fans should be happy to miss out this time

For us, it was a no-brainer even when it was touted that he could be available for £21 million, but Liverpool are about to pick him up for under £11 million now while we don’t look to be bringing in anybody.

On the flip side, the transfer window for Newcastle hasn’t been a complete disaster, and this Chiesa update proves why.
