Wrexham’s joint owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have had their say on the FA Cup feud that developed between the National League side and Sheffield United. The Blades booked their place in the fifth round after a replay win over Phil Parkinson’s side but a bust-up in the tunnel after the game marred the result.

Ahead of the replay, the non-league side’s social media team irked the Championship promotion chasers with a post and tagged the Blades captain in it. Feeling the Welsh outfit had become a little too confident ahead of the replay, Anel Ahmedhodzic admitted in United’s own season documentary Out Run, Out Fight, Out Play that he wanted to ‘shut them up’.

Boss Parkinson was unhappy with Billy Sharp’s reaction at full-time, as he celebrated in front of the travelling fans by rubbing his eyes as if to suggest tears, while the former skipper could be heard shouting ‘stick that on your documentary’ as a tunnel fracas ensued after goals from Sharp and Sander Berge had booked their place against Tottenham.Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Talk 'Ted Lasso' Comparisons with New Docuseries 'Welcome to Wrexham' | THR Interview – The Hollywood Reporter

Season two of Welcome to Wrexham is now being aired and last night’s episode featured the FA Cup run, where the two owners had their say on the fall-out with United. McElhenney aimed a foul-mouthed blast by saying ‘we were living rent-free in that mother******’s brain”, while co-owner Reynolds said: “It was like ‘oh we own you right now’. You’re a Championship team, and second place in the Championship, you guys are amazing.

“And this guy we just got under his skin. It was so, so wonderful to see that we got under that guy’s skin the way we did.”Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Talk 'Ted Lasso' Comparisons with New Docuseries 'Welcome to Wrexham' | THR Interview – The Hollywood Reporter
