Antonee Robinson in action for FulhamFulham star Antonee Robinson is already being eyed up by Manchester United as Erik ten Hag’s side look to continue their spending in January.

United spent £200million on new signings over the summer, with Manuel Ugarte the last of six new faces to arrive at Old Trafford. The Uruguayan followed Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and teenage prospect Sekou Kone in joining the Premier League club in the most recent window.

Questions were asked over United’s left-back depth during the window, though they didn’t sign a specialist in the position. This has meant that, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia out injured, Diogo Dalot filled in on the left for the first two Premier League games of the season.

United opted against a move for out-of-favour Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell, who remained at Stamford Bridge after deadline day came and went for Premier League clubs. Instead, it appears Robinson has moved to the top of their shortlist.

According to The Sun, United see Robinson as a longer-term successor to Shaw. While just two years older than Robinson, England international Shaw has had a succession of injuries take their toll throughout his time at Old Trafford.

The same outlet suggests Fulham would want £30m to part ways with a player who cost them just £2m from Wigan in 2020. The former Everton academy star has missed just four games since the start of the 2022-23 season, having helped the Cottagers earn promotion under Marco Silva.Antonee Robinson in action for Fulham

English-born United States international Robinson signed a contract extension last summer, with his current Fulham deal running until 2028. United aren’t the only team keen on the defender, though, with long-term admirers AC Milan previously coming close to signing him from Wigan and Manchester City linked with a swoop in 2023.
