Austrian drinks brand Red Bull has been announced as Newcastle United’s new Official Energy Drink Partner. The world’s ‘leading’ energy drink brand replaces Monster Energy, who struck a deal with the Magpies back in 2022.
The multi-year deal means Red Bull will now ‘fuel performance’ of all players at the club, while the company will enjoy a digital presence in and around the stadium, as well as selling its products both in house and at the club’s new STACK fan zone.
Sections of the Newcastle fanbase had suspected a deal was in the offing after Red Bull adverts were spotted on the pitchside displays during the 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend. A Red Bull vending truck was also spotted around the stadium before the Premier League encounter.
Speaking about the new deal, Newcastle United’s Chief Commercial Officer, Peter Silverstone, said: “Attracting leading brands to Newcastle United continues to be at the forefront of our exciting commercial growth and Red Bull is a fantastic addition to our partnership family.
“This partnership with Red Bull recognises the exciting journey that Newcastle United is on, with our ever-growing digital presence and increased international television audience of 62% in the last 12 months.
“Red Bull has an unrivalled passion for engaging with sports fans around the world, through culturally relevant partnerships and unique events. The club’s global appeal and strong supporter base will continue to establish Red Bull as a market leader in the UK, USA, Middle East and throughout Europe.”
Red Bull joins the likes of Noon, Sela, BetMGM, Fenwick, Saudia, Fun88 and Sportsbet.io as Newcastle continue to build their arsenal of sponsorship agreements. The Magpies continue to pursue further deals with global brands to increase their revenue, in turn helping to bridge the gap to their Premier League rivals in terms of spending capabilities.
Newcastle are also on the hunt for a training kit sponsor which would likely be transformational in terms of boosting the club’s coffers in the world of profit and sustainability rules [PSR].
