Dennis Praet signs for Leicester from Sampdoria for £18m on five-year contract | Football News | Sky SportsReleased Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet continues to search for a new club three months after leaving the King Power Stadium.

The Belgian midfielder was let go at the end of his contract this summer, ending a five-year spell with the Foxes. He was reportedly nearing a return to Italy in July, the country he identified as his preferred destination, but the 30-year-old is still without a club following the closure of the transfer window.

According to HITC, he’s turned down a move to Championship outfit Burnley following claims that Fulham have targeted him. The report claims that the relegated Clarets had offered him a contract but he has rejected the move to the second tier outfit amid Premier League interest. The outlet adds that the Cottagers are one of the sides considering a deal with competition from Wolves and top flight new-comers Ipswich Town.

Leicester City paid £18 million to sign Praet in 2019 and the midfielder went on to make 107 appearances for the club. He made 17 Championship appearances last term as the side returned to the top flight.Dennis Praet signs for Leicester from Sampdoria for £18m on five-year contract | Football News | Sky Sports

Praet is also reported to have interest in his home country of Belgium, which could be a tempting option for the star who began his career with Anderlecht. Anderlecht recently gave up on a move for Manchester United man Christian Eriksen but are still in the market for a midfielder – one Belgian outlet has even suggested that Praet has undergone a medical ahead of a potential move.
