The American has been relentless in his efforts to try and assume control at Goodison Park, and that has culminated in a string of recent interviews updating supporters on his progress.

With Farhad Moshiri a rather maligned figure on Merseyside, most will be glad to see the back of him, especially if it is for this ambitious billionaire businessman.

However, not all have been convinced.

The Esk poked holes in Textor’s claims, whilst some Everton fans drew worrying comparisons between Textor and Moshiri.

Alan Myers is on hand to try and assuage fears.

Taking to X, just after he had published his Sky Sports interview with the Crystal Palace owner, he would then seek to reply to a few fan queries regarding what they had heard.

However, one supporter would sum up his thoughts on it, noting: ‘I feel like he has high standards and a rebellious streak in him that Everton have been lacking for a long time. I think he will fight for us and take responsibility when he screws up. I see him as someone I could get behind which is more than I can say for others.’

Myers simply replied: ‘That’s the impression I got but let’s see.’

Whatever happens, John Textor will fight for Everton

Whilst he may seem a little chaotic and brash, with his American can-do attitude shining through with each new interview he gives, there is clearly a man who cares wrapped up in all that.
