Jayden Bogle and Joël Piroe of Leeds ahead of the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United FC and Portsmouth FC at Elland Road on August 10,...Jayden Bogle has endured an indifferent start to life at Leeds United since his move to Elland Road from rivals Sheffield United in the summer, with Leeds spending around £5m to get him.

The 24-year-old was pinpointed as Leeds‘ top right-back target. A right-back was crucial after Leeds waved goodbye to Archie Gray, Luke Ayling, Jamie Shackleton and Connor Roberts in the summer.

Rasmus Kristensen also left, joining Robin Koch’s Frankfurt on loan. Leeds needed a right-back and splashed £5m on Bogle from a Championship rival in Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United, seen as cheap.

Bogle was in the final year of his contract and despite Sheffield United’s relegation, he had impressed in the Premier League. Indeed, he scored three goals against both Manchester clubs and then Chelsea.

Bogle shares what he’s noticed about Leeds since joining

Leeds’ new no.2 has started all four Championship matches for Leeds so far, completing 90 minutes on three occasions. But his start has not been particularly reassuring for Leeds fans so far this season.

A penalty conceded against Portsmouth, a rash yellow card against West Brom and struggling to get hold of his winger at Sheffield Wednesday. Andy Hinchcliffe said Bogle was “all over the place” at Hillsborough.

Bogle though, shares what he has noticed about Leeds since joining on the club’s website: “The club’s massive. What it means to the fans on a match day, when walking out, the noise and support is crazy.”

What Neil Redfearn has said about new Leeds star Bogle

Perhaps, Bogle’s up-and-down start is simply the right-back getting used to Daniel Farke and playing for a club the size of Leeds. Maybe he needs a bit of time just to get used to Leeds before he starts shining.
