Maxence Lacroix and Eddie Nketiah were both announced in the evening of deadline day and it was two loanee’s Matt Turner and Trevoh Chalobah who would need a deal sheet to get over the line.
Chalobah typically operates as a centre half. However, he will be a versatile option for gaffer Oliver Glasner. He has prerviously shown that he is also able to operate at right back and as a central defensive midfielder.
Previously, in his career Chalobah has enjoyed loan spells at Ipswich Town, Huddersfield and French side Lorient.
He is a player that has grown up in the local area of South London and has made 80 appearances in the Premier League in the last three seasons. Chalobah has netted 5 Premier League goals including scoring against the Eagles on his Premier League debut and he has also been on the score sheet in the UEFA Champions League against Juventus.
What his initial thoughts are on joining the club: “Yeah first I just want to say thanks to my lord my saviour Jesus Christ for this opporunity. The first few days have been good around the boys, they’ve welcomed me and it’s been a good few days.”
On the atmosphere in the camp and if he knows any of the lads already: “Yeah I know Eddie (Nketiah) well, we grew up together at Chelsea in the young age groups.
I’ve been close with him ever since. I know Eze quite well as well. Obviously Marc (Guehi) playing with him at Chelsea. It’s good to be here with the lads again.”
