Sean Dyche has revealed he will make changes for Everton’s Carabao Cup tie at home to Southampton but claims the current hectic schedule prevents him from going through some of the fine details connected to their recent collapses. Following their spectacular late capitulation to lose 3-2 at home to Bournemouth before the international break, the Blues also surrendered a 2-0 lead to be beaten by the same scoreline at Aston Villa on Saturday.

Dyche acknowledged he will shuffle his pack for the third round tie against the Saints which is a preview of what will be Goodison Park’s last-ever game next May.

When asked if the coming days would enable him to embark on a detailed assessment of issues that might have caused the team giving up their leads, he said: “I can’t really address them because we’ve got three games in a week. So, adding in the Villa game that we’ve just had to the Southampton game and then Leicester game, you can’t really address much because of the physicality.

“All we can do is walk and talk and go through the design of a team, you can’t really do much physically because of the demand and the numbers we’ve got. We’ll just work the best we can.
