Swansea bring in goalkeeper Carl Rushworth from Brighton on loanHull City signed the highly-rated stopper on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion before the deadline in the last transfer window.

Rushworth, 23, wasn’t in the squad against the Blades but could return this Friday away at Stoke City as he awaits his debut for the Tigers under Tim Walter.

In this latest update regarding his situation, journalist Cooper has said on the latest episode of the 1904 Club Podcast: “He picked up an unspecified bruise but Walter thinks he’ll be back for Friday night. I, like you, expected Rushworth to come in (against Sheffield United last time out).”

He added: “Rushworth is expected to be back for the weekend but again, I don’t see him bringing him in. I think he’ll stick with (Ivor) Pandur.”Swansea bring in goalkeeper Carl Rushworth from Brighton on loan

Hull City have five goalkeepers on their books right now in Rushworth, Ivor Pandur, Anthony Racioppi, Timothee Lo-Tutala and Harvey Cartwright, although the latter two are younger options.

The Tigers’ manager has a big decision to make on who to have as his number one, with Pandur getting the nod so far.

They didn’t sign Rushworth to sit on the bench though and he will be looking to become their first choice over the coming weeks and months.

He has never made a senior appearance for the Premier League side but has gained plenty of experience out on loan from the AMEX Stadium at Worthing, Walsall, Lincoln City and Swansea City.
