As per the routine at Palace, everyone was back at Copers Cope Road after the win against QPR, as the manager looks to secure his first league victory of the season amidst growing pressure. The intensity and desire for a win meant that those who started the League Cup game had their recovery session, while those who were substitutes or didn’t play at all went straight to the gym and did additional fieldwork. The team has a day off tomorrow and will return to training on Friday ahead of the upcoming game.

The biggest problem this season has been in midfield, and Cheikh Doucoure did not train as he continues to recover from the foot injury he picked up against Leicester. He was not spotted in training, and there is a high likelihood that he will not be involved in the upcoming match. Will Hughes and Jefferson Lerma played in midfield for the first time this season. With Doucoure’s injury, these three (including Kamada) will likely continue to fill the midfield roles, although Adam Wharton could be the one to get the nod.

Work on Eddie Nketiah

Eddie Nketiah was back in training after scoring his debut goal for the club last night. Despite being part of the group doing recovery work today, he stayed behind to work on his shooting and finishing. He will be hoping to get on the scoresheet in the league when they host Manchester United at Selhurst Park.
