Rutter joined Brighton in the summer when the Premier League side triggered the release clause in his Leeds contract.

The forward jumped at the opportunity of completing a move to the Premier League club after almost helping Leeds to get promoted back last season.

Leeds were not expecting to sell the Frenchman but could do nothing when Brighton decided to pay the buyout clause in his contract.

The 22-year-old is yet to score or register an assist since joining the Seagulls and has looked clumsy in front of goal for the Premier League side.

Tony Dorigo conceded that he doesn’t understand the former Leeds United attacker’s profligacy in front of goal

Rutter was not known for being a goalscorer during his Leeds days but was an expert in unlocking defences with his precision passing in the final third.

Dorigo admitted that for someone who shows so much composure when it comes to finding that right pass in the attacking third, it is baffling how bad he is when it comes to finishing off chances.

The former Leeds star conceded that it is a dichotomy that Rutter struggles to hit the target when his passing can have pinpoint accuracy in the attacking third.

“What I don’t get is the composure that Georgi had when the ball was at his feet when the boots were flying and the bodies were going everywhere”, Dorigo said on the Square Ball Podcast.
