There will be a change of host stadium for the 2027 Champions League final after UEFA made a decision about the venue.
Arsenal are currently competing in the new revamped format of Europe’s elite cup competition and were held to a goalless draw with Atalanta in their first league phase match last week.
Tottenham Hotspur will begin their Europa League campaign this week at home to Qarabag, while Chelsea will face Gent in their first match in the Europa Conference League next week.
Venues for the Champions League final are arranged and planned years in advance. Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena will host the fixture this season, while the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary will take centre stage for the match in 2026.
It was originally scheduled that the San Siro, home of Inter Milan and AC Milan, will host the game in 2027.
News emerged on Tuesday, though, that UEFA have taken the fixture away from the stadium due to concerns about the refurbishment that will be underway at the time of the game.
The San Siro is scheduled to undergo renovation work beginning in 2026 and hoping to be completed before Euro 2032 which will be hosted by Italy.
