Gary O’Neil’s side haven’t started as hoped in the 2024/25 campaign, recording one draw and four defeats from their opening five in the Premier League.

The Old Gold have already faced four of last season’s top seven, with just one point to show for their efforts so far.

The tests aren’t about to get any easier for Wolves, who come up against Liverpool on match day six, with Arne Slot’s in-form side visiting Molineux.

Gary Neville shares Wolves vs Liverpool score prediction

While Wolves sit bottom of the table with just one point, Liverpool are second with 12 points from a possible 15.

The Reds will arrive at Molineux as the firm favourites however, that shouldn’t derail the Old Gold’s game plan, with O’Neil already seeing that Slot’s side can be beaten.

Nottingham Forest beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield on match day four, with Wolves securing their only point of the campaign against Nuno Santo’s side.

Speaking ahead of the weekend of action on the Stick To Football podcast, pundit Gary Neville predicted one thing that he expects to happen at Molineux.

“I’m going to go 2-1 to Liverpool,” Neville explained, but he admitted that he doesn’t anticipate it to be a simple evening for the Reds.

“I think it’ll be 1-1 and Liverpool will score a late winner.”Mario Lemina and Goncalo Guedes of Wolverhampton Wanderers show dejection after Jhon Duran of Aston Villa (not pictured) scores his team's third go...

Neville’s prediction certainly follows the pattern of Wolves’ luck this season so far, with Jill Scott and Ian Wright predicting 3-1 victories for the visitors.

Wolves have to perform for 90 minutes against Liverpool

Wolves will brace themselves for a trialling evening at Molineux, but must not approach the game with fear.

While it seems pretty obvious that Wolves will have to remain focused for a full 90 minutes against Liverpool, the task is not something that the Old Gold have demonstrated they are capable of this season.
