Since Liverpool’s defeat to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, they have bounced back with three consecutive statement results. After being edged out 1-0 at Anfield by Forest, the Reds have won their first Champions League fixture under Arne Slot, beat Bournemouth 3-0 in the league and put five past West Ham in the Carabao Cup.

Slot is enjoying a strong start to his chapter on Merseyside and fans can only hope this continues throughout the season. Their next challenge will be Wolves this Saturday as Liverpool make the trip to Molineux in search of another important three points. Gary O’Neil’s side may look an easy opponent on paper following their dismal start to the season, but the wounded animal is often the most unpredictable, and Wolves have certainly taken some blows already this season.

The West Midlands side have managed to bank just one point so far and currently sit bottom of the table, with the joint-worst goal difference alongside Everton. Wolves have had a tricky start to the campaign and have lost five of their seven matches across all competitions, and now they must face a Liverpool side really enjoying their football at the moment.

Not only will Wolves be desperate for a positive result, they have been hit with a major injury blow that could impact their performances even further. Yerson Mosquera, who has started every league single match under O’Neil, was stretchered off the pitch last time out against Aston Villa. The club has since announced that he will miss the rest of the season after suffering injuries to both his MCL and ACL.
