Per the Daily Mirror, former Newcastle director Staveley is in advanced talks with Spurs to buy a stake in the club. She was key, along with husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi, to PIF’s purchase of Newcastle but left the club in July, and is now looking to buy into Tottenham.
Spurs, per the report, are in the market for a new investment, which Staveley is hoping to secure from another source in the Middle East following her work with PIF. She and her husband are likely to buy up shares from Joe Lewis, the head of ENIC and one-time majority shareholder. The Mirror quote a source who claims an initial investment could be made within weeks, as both Staveley and Ghodoussi were guests at their clash with Brentford.
