Crystal Palace should already be plotting their Janaury transfer business.

Oliver Glasner’s side have made a poor start to the new Premier League campaign as they currently reside in the relegation zone.

Crystal Palace suffered a 2-1 defeat on the weekend to fellow strugglers Everton, who picked up their first win of the season.

So evidently, they need to do business in Janaury to strengthen the squad.

Crystal Palace should try to sign Wilfried Gnonto in January

Crystal Palace should try to sign Leeds United’s promising young winger Wilfried Gnonto during the January transfer window.

The Eagles were keeping tabs on Gnonto during the summer window but never formalised their interest.

The 2003-born has made a bright start to the new Championship campaign, registering four goal involvements in eight outings.

Leeds are thought to value him at around £30m, so it certainly won’t be an easy deal to do.

However, if he were to sign, it could change the course of Palace’s season, as they’re lacking that bit of magic on the right flank following Michael Olise’s departure.

Wilfried Gnonto statistics

Gnonto’s underlying FBref statistics make for very impressive reading indeed.

The 21-year-old ranks in the top 12 per cent for non-penalty goals per 90 compared to his positional peers across Europe.

Further, he sits in the top 12 per cent for progressive passes received, amplifying his terrific movement to get into forward areas.

Palace really should test the waters with a bid for Gnonto this winter.
