Everton take on Newcastle United on Saturday in the Premier League and here is the injury latest.
After a disastrous start to the season, in which they twice gave away two-goal leads to lose, Everton have started to show signs of life in recent weeks.
A draw with Leicester City was followed up with the first win of the season for the Toffees, with a stunning Dwight McNeil double earning a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
Despite some shocking results, Sean Dyche’s side have put in some strong performances and will be aiming to keep that going when they welcome Newcastle United to Goodison Park on Saturday evening.
Everton will definitely be without four players for the game and now another crucial star is a doubt, too. Here is the latest on the casualties and when they could return.
Jarrad Branthwaite
Jarrad Branthwaite only made his long-awaited return to the side last weekend after suffering a groin injury to start the season and it’s no coincidence that Everton picked up their first win with him back.
Yet, Branthwaite is already a doubt again after he injured his quad in training ahead of the Newcastle fixture.
It’s not clear how serious the centre-back’s injury is but it might be wise not to risk him against the Magpies with so many important matches to come after the international break.
