Entering the St. Martin’s Episcopal School gym in a casual sweatshirt and black pants, Berry exuded a calm confidence. There was no suspense or spectacle—he already knew where he was going.
The early signing period marked a pivotal moment for Berry as he officially committed to LSU. Reflecting on his decision, Berry said, “Before I even made the decision, I knew where I wanted to go. Once I made it, I was locked in. Nothing was going to change my mind.”

Berry emphasized that his choice was rooted in loyalty and personal connection, particularly with LSU running backs coach Frank Wilson. “I built a great relationship with Coach Wilson,” Berry explained. “It was more than just football.” While other universities offered paths to success, the bond he shared with Wilson set LSU apart.
Berry’s loyalty stood out amidst the volatile world of recruiting, where NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) deals often sway decisions.
