West Ham eye Guilherme Arana in search for new left-back

West Ham: “deadly” January target for the Hammers I’M READY TO JOIN ON ONE……

In a recent report, The Daily Mirror claimed that West Ham United remain keen on Manchester United ace Harry Maguire. It has been revealed that the Hammers are still showing interest in recruiting the English defender after failing to land him last summer.

Maguire’s Struggles At Manchester United This Season

The 30-year-old has struggled to prove his worth as a first-team starter at Old Trafford after falling behind Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof in Man United’s pecking order. Maguire has only featured in four matches for the Red Devils this season, securing one assist in various competitions.West Ham eye Guilherme Arana in search for new left-back

The English talent has been a sporadic presence in Erik ten Hag’s squad which could be why he is only averaging 0.3 tackles and 0.7 interceptions per game in the Premier League. He has even been careful when distributing possession from inside his half after completing 84.7% of his attempted passes in the English first division

His current contract at the Mancunian club will expire in the summer of 2025. However, Maguire is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford which could open the door for West Ham to snap him up this winter.

Should West Ham United Boss David Moyes Go For Maguire?

Maguire is a tough-tackling defender who can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t hesitate to clear his lines when needed and is even proficient at playing his way out from the back. However, the 59-time England international has been prone to making errors on the defensive third of the pitch in recent seasons.

Still, Maguire has got a wealth of experience in Premier League football and could be a real asset at a club with European ambitions like West Ham.

Hence, it makes sense for David Moyes to go for Maguire if he is willing to play him regularly at the London Stadium in the coming seasons. With enough games under his belt, the English defender could prove his worth and be a decent signing for the East London club in the short term.West Ham eye Guilherme Arana in search for new left-back

Maguire will even help the Hammers cope with fixture congestion better and compete across all fronts over the next few years.
