Ongoing Transfer Portal Needs

Despite these additions, Auburn continues to target specific positions to strengthen its roster:

  • Quarterback: With Thorne’s eligibility expired and Holden Geriner entering the portal, Auburn is seeking additional depth at quarterback. Coach Hugh Freeze has indicated the pursuit of at least one more quarterback to ensure competition and stability at the position.

Strategic Approach

Under Coach Freeze, Auburn has demonstrated a proactive approach in utilizing the transfer portal. In the previous cycle, the Tigers added 16 players, and they are on track to meet or exceed that number this year. This strategy reflects a commitment to rapidly enhancing the roster by integrating experienced players who can make immediate impacts.
