A fortune-telling machine attempted to warn Tennessee fans about their team’s fate against Ohio State in the College Football Playoff—but to no avail.

That’s the premise of the latest video from the popular sketch comedy series SEC Shorts. The episode humorously portrays the disheartening experience of Volunteers fans during their team’s clash with the Buckeyes.

The 3.5-minute skit begins with a group of Tennessee fans preparing to leave their Airbnb in Columbus ahead of the first-round playoff game on Saturday. Before heading to Ohio Stadium, the group stumbles upon a fortune-telling machine in the rental property and decides to give it a try.

The fortune teller, named “Baltar,” starts off with what seems like good news. He foresees “Rocky Top,” Tennessee’s iconic fight song, echoing through the stadium speakers and chants of “S-E-C” ringing out during the game.

Initially, the fans are thrilled by the prediction, interpreting it as a sign of Tennessee’s strong performance and potential victory. However, their excitement quickly turns to confusion and dread as Baltar reveals that these events will happen—but only as mockery of the team’s struggles on the field against Ohio State.

Stunned and disheartened, the fans begin to question how “Neyland North”—a nickname implying the stadium would feel like home turf—could become the site of such a disappointing conclusion to what had been a hopeful season for Tennessee.
