Moukoko has not appeared off the bench in any of Dortmund’s last three Bundesliga matches.

The teenager made his debut back in December 2020 and looked like he was going to be the next big thing.

He made history by becoming the youngest player to ever play in the Bundesliga, aged just 16 years and one day.

But things haven’t transpired as expected and he could now be on the move – and it would seem Wolves are keeping an eye on the situation…

Following the arrival of Niclas Fullkrug, the minutes have dried up for Moukoko, and the youngster could now push for an exit in the next transfer window.

His representatives are said to be exploring potential loan options.

Wolves are mentioned as being keen.

But there is competition in the form of Brentford, as well as Lazio, Fiorentina, Lens and Lyon.

It is suggested that Moukoko is keen to be playing regularly because he wants to make Germany’s final Euro 2024 squad next year.

Cameroon-born Moukoko has previously been likened to the legendary Samuel Eto’o. The official Bundesliga website ran a feature earlier this year, and said of him: “The similarities between Moukoko and the Eto’o we all grew to know at Barcelona and Inter Milan are striking – and we’re not just talking about their almost identical height.

“They are both out-and-out centre-forwards who you can always bank on when the ball is played into them, scoring the majority of their goals from inside the penalty area. But they are also far more than your typical fox in the box.”

Moukoko likely won’t want Wolves move

It would be a real surprise if this move came to fruition.

Moukoko is a great young talent, but Wolves likely just won’t be able to offer him the game time he craves with a big international tournament coming up.

Gary O’Neil is a big fan of Matheus Cunha, and the Molineux head coach then has Sasa Kalajdzic and Fabio Silva in reserve.

If Wolves are going to bring in another centre-forward in January, it perhaps needs to be someone a little more proven. It wouldn’t make a great deal of sense to sign Moukoko, with Silva already a young striker and also not forgetting Nathan Fraser, who is looking really lively.

Wanderers could well want another striker in January. After all, the club did attempt to sign Che Adams at the end of the summer window.

Wolves also made a play for Boulaye Dia, and were slammed by Salernitana for their proposal.
