Leeds United will travel to Carrow Road to face Norwich City in the Championship on Saturday (21 October), and Daniel Farke has shared some positive news on the injury front.

The Whites are fifth in the league table and they need to pick up momentum and close the gap at the top. Farke has confirmed that Italian striker Willy Gnonto will travel with the squad for this game, which is definitely “good news”.

The 19-year-old impressed under Jesse Marsch in the Premier League last season, and the club’s official YouTube channel described his first goal at Elland Road as “sensational”.

Farke says that he has looked “sharp” in training, and will definitely be a part of the side for tomorrow’s game. However, he is not completely match-fit, and probably he could be used from the bench.

“All-in-all I would label it some progress. Willy is back in team training since last Sunday, so no problems so far,” said Farke, as quoted by Leeds Live.

“Obviously, he hasn’t played for a while, can’t be considered 100 per cent, but he looked sharp in training and is definitely a topic for the squad to travel with us and definitely is available for the game, which is definitely good news.”

Jamie Shackleton is also back in first-team training since the beginning of this week after shoulder problems. There is a possibility that he could also travel with the squad for the trip to Carrow Road.

Likewise, left-back Junior Firpo has been also training with the first team this week, but Farke will be very cautious with him. He was out for four or five months, and won’t be available for this game. He is expected to join the full training shortly, so it won’t be long before we see him in action for the Whites.

Stuart Dallas has been a long-term absentee. He has recently returned to part training and will need at least three or four full weeks before he can be selected for games. He is also out of contract at the end of the season, and Leeds need to make a bold decision on his future.
