Mark Robins has spoken about Callum O’Hare’s contract situation, insisting he’s “calm” about the fact that the Coventry City star has not yet put pen to paper on a new deal.
The Sky Blues’ attacking midfielder is currently ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation from an ACL injury suffered on Boxing Day last season, and close to returning to action from the bench. But the big question many fans want to know is whether or not the former Aston Villa prospect is going to extend his stay at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
O’Hare is in the final year of his current deal and will therefore be out of contract next summer and able to leave City as a free agent unless he commits to fresh terms. The club are understood to have opened negotiations with the 25-year-old but it’s unclear at this stage where those talks are at, or the player’s feelings on the matter.

I’m sort of calm with everything. We’ll see. I think that will resolve one way or another. It is what it is. If a player wants to stay, and I’m not talking about Callum specifically, but if a player wants to stay, they sign a contract. If they don’t want to stay, they don’t. It is as simple as that.“We always try and do what’s right for everybody and the football club is paramount. The players are hugely, hugely important and they’ve got their own ideas about what happens. But ultimately, just speaking specifically about Callum, he’s concentrating on getting back playing, and that is his sole focus, I think. The other things will follow when they follow.”
