Nigel Pearson has spoken of his respect for Coventry City boss Mark Robins amid the “tolerance of crap” he’s had to endure over his six and half years back with the Sky Blues.
The Bristol City manager and Robins are the two longest-serving in the Championship, although the latter is some way ahead with his rival in the dugouts at Ashton Gate this weekend, with the six years and 226 days Robins has spent in charge of Coventry ranking as the fifth overall across all four divisions in terms of his longevity in the job.
“Wow. It just shows you how fragile life is, doesn’t it?” said Pearson, when presented with the stats in his re-match press conference.
Coventry’s success and growth on the pitch is testament to the work Robins has done, effectively building them back from the bottom up, while the 53-year-old has also showed his patience in managing the club’s revival amid huge upheaval and complicated challenges off the field.Since 2017, they’ve been exiled to St Andrew’sBirmingham City’s for extended periods, had multiple issues regarding their own stadium
