Michael Brown has raved over Everton forward Jack Harrison after his excellent start to life at Goodison Park.

As reported by BBC Sport (20 October), the pundit claimed the 26-year-old could be a “real bonus” for Everton when they take the trip to Anfield for the Merseyside derby on Saturday (21 October).

Harrison arrived at the club on loan from Leeds United with a hip injury, but has a goal and assist in the Premier League since his return.

Brown said: “I am a big fan of Jack Harrison who could be a real bonus for them this season. He is very talented.”

Everton can do with every boost they can get their hands on, and Harrison hitting the ground running after his return was a huge bonus.

His exceptional goal against Bournemouth will live long in the memories of the Goodison Park faithful, but the added energy and drive he’s provided the side could prove significant over the course of the season.

Many Leeds United fans were very disappointed to see Harrison leave Elland Road for the season, but Harrison clearly needs to be in a top-flight league. He fits Sean Dyche’s system well in from 187 minutes of first-team football he’s had this season, and his brace of goal contributions against the Cherries shows that he can impact the scoreboard.Everton sign Jack Harrison from Leeds on loan despite winger's hip injury | Everton | The Guardian

While his short spell in the Premier League this season has been impressive, there is plenty more of the season to go and Harrison is still yet to fully bed into the squad. Everton fans should be reluctant to depend on Harrison based only on these brief moments of brilliance.

However, the former Manchester City man has proved he can cut it in the Premier League before after good spells at Leeds, and all signs suggest nothing but a success.
