As a result of a smash-and-grab attack on a super star, toffees are frustrated.

There have been fresh doubts raised over the potential takeover of Everton after Farhad Moshiri and 777 Partners have snubbed Liverpool mayor Steve Rotherham, according to the Mail on Sunday.

The newspaper reported on page 95 of its print edition on Sunday (22 October) that the Toffees owner and the US investment firm have declined to address concerns raised by the mayor about the takeover.

After £15million of public money has been given to the Blues for their Bramley-Moore Dock stadium, Rotherham wrote to Moshiri asking for assurances that he will continue to fund the club while the takeover goes through and that the development will be completed on time, with sources telling the newspaper those questions haven’t been “adequately addressed.

The concerning news about the takeover seems to be never-ending and it’s just one thing after another, spreading yet more doubts about whether or not it will go through.

The mayor has every right to be asking those questions because this is a huge development for the city and it will have an impact on so many people he represents.

The fact those concerns haven’t been answered is pretty poor as there have been far bigger questions asked about 777 Partners over the past few weeks and those ones should be pretty easy to respond to.

It just feels like the takeover is never going to get Premier League approval because there is currently no evidence the company has the necessary funds and there are so many negative reports coming out.

It’s currently just a waiting game to see what will eventually happen, but the matter doesn’t look like it will be resolved any time soon despite the desperate need for answers.
