Derby County manager Paul Warne has said that there are some issues with his squad that he will ‘need to decide on’ before they host Exeter City on Tuesday night.
The Rams are coming off the back of a humiliating 1-0 loss at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday afternoon, with an own goal from Conor Hourihane giving Salop all three points at the Crowd Stadium.
Warne in particular received plenty of backlash after the game from Rams supporters, with goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith asking fans to stay positive and stick with the team.
‘Couple of bits of soreness’ in Rams squad
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Rams clash with Exeter at Pride Park, Warne said that there is a ‘couple of bits of soreness’ in his squad following the loss at Shrewsbury.
“There’s a couple of bits of soreness which we need to decide on,” Warne told the Derby Telegraph.
No fresh injuries is massive boost for Warne
With there being no new fresh injuries, this will come as a massive boost for Warne and a relief for Rans fans.
Elder and Ward are still yet to feature but have been seen in training, with Elder recovering from his surgery on a hernia, whilst Ward has recovered from a knee injury.
As much of a boost it is having both of them back, it does give Warne a selection headache.
With Elder and Ward primarily being left back and right back respectively, it does give Warne the option to rest Craig Forsyth or Ryan Nyambe, who have both been regulars in the side in their absence.
