- University of North Carolina (2023–Present): Jones serves as the cornerbacks coach, bringing over two decades of coaching experience. He has mentored numerous first-team all-conference players and has been instrumental in developing players who have received national recognition, including Jim Thorpe Award semifinalists and a Bronko Nagurski Award finalist. His coaching tenure includes participation in multiple bowl games, such as the Duke’s Mayo Bowl in 2023.
- University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) (2020–2022): Jones was the Assistant Director of Sports Performance for the UAB Football program. During his tenure, UAB secured a Conference USA Championship in 2020 and participated in two bowl games—the 2021 Independence Bowl and the 2022 Bahamas Bowl. Prior to this, he served as the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning for the women’s basketball program at the University of Alabama from 2017 to 2019.
- University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) (2013–2016): Jones held the position of co-defensive coordinator, focusing on the secondary. His leadership contributed to the development of a defense that led the nation in scoring defense in 2014 and produced multiple All-SEC players. Jones is a 2001 graduate of the University of Alabama, where he earned a degree in financial planning. He was a two-year starter at defensive back for the Crimson Tide and was part of three bowl teams, an SEC West championship in 1996, and an SEC championship in 1999. He later earned a master’s degree in sports management from Alabama in 2005.
