The New York Stadium had to be evacuated shortly after Coventry City’s Championship defeat at Rotherham United on Wednesday evening.
The Sky Blues were beaten 2-0 by the Millers in Yorkshire. Lee Peltier glanced in shortly after the interval and then Ollie Rathbone lashed home in stoppage time to give the Millers’ just their second league win of the season.
Not long after the final whistle, a fire alarm sounded inside the ground. Anyone still in the venue was subsequently asked to leave immediately.
