Everton’s youth production, over the years, has been some of the finest in the country. After all, it was the academy that helped hand Wayne Rooney his emergence, who went on to become both Manchester United and England’s all-time top scorer before his retirement.

As the crowning jewel in a roster also boasting stars like Ross Barkley, Leon Osman, Francis Jeffers and many more, the latest crop of youngsters will seek to follow in their footsteps to earn their first-team opportunity and take it with both hands.

The fact that there is such consistency in promotion to the senior squad, and a clear pathway for stars to earn their big break, must surely be a selling point in trying to tempt new gems to back their project.

As such, it should come as no surprise that the Toffees are reportedly leading the race to sign a top teenage talent, with journalist Alan Nixon noting in his Patreon about the battle for the Australian’s signature.

With each club having sampled his talents, Nixon later outlines: ‘The teenage right wing back starred for Everton in a youth game last week and previously turned out for the Hammers. Foxes are also desperate to land him.’ With Finch Farm already enamoured with his talents, it seems like a deal certainly worth making.
