Superstar goal form is second to none, with 10 scored and more to come, according to boss.
ELLIOT LEE is no stranger to getting into double figures but the Wrexham playmaker is on course for his best ever goal-scoring season.
Lee arrived at The STóK Cae Ras from Luton Town in the summer of 2022 and the 28-year-old scored 15 goals in all competitions during his first campaign with the Reds, with 12 coming in the National League as Phil Parkinson’s men clinched automatic promotion and return to the EFL following a 15-year absence.
There has been no let-up this season for Lee who has picked up where he left off, finding the net 10 times in the opening 16 League Two games to put Wrexham among the frontrunners.
The numbers also added up for Lee during his spell with The Hatters.
He grabbed 12 goals in all competitions in 2017-18, helping Luton finish runners-up in League Two and the following campaign, Lee scored 12 times in League One as the Kenilworth Road outfit finished as champions.
Lee is heading for his most prolific campaign but the midfielder insists wins come first, with Wrexham unbeaten in eight matches and currently third in the table, five points behind leaders Stockport County, following Saturday’s 2-0 win at second placed Notts County.
“My best league tally is 12,” said Lee.
“I don’t set targets, as long as my manager is happy with me and as long as my team-mates are happy with me.
“I just want to keep putting the performances in on the pitch and keep winning for the team.
“It is a bonus if the goals and assists come.
“As long as we are winning, I am happy.”
Lee opening the scoring in the 73rd minute and Ollie Palmer quickly added a second goal as Wrexham beat rivals Notts County 2-0 on Saturday.
Parkinson’s men are in good form but Lee feels there is a lot more to come from the Reds.
“We don’t believe that we are at our top level yet,” added Lee.
“We think we have got a lot of improving to do.
“That is not arrogance, that is just knowing how good we can be.
“There’s plenty more to come from us and to be sitting third in the table is testament to us.
“We will keep working hard and hopefully it’s another successful season
