Conor Coady “did not feel it was right” to return to Wolves this past summer.

The defender, who spent last season on loan at Premier League rivals Everton, joined Leicester City in a £7.5million transfer back in July. After a “big think” over the summer, it was a decision Coady knew was the right one to take.

Cody made 317 appearances for Wolves during eight years at the club, and still “loves the place to bits”. But when Leicester came calling, he know the time was right for both himself and Wolves to move on.

“I had a big think in the summer and didn’t feel it was right to go back there,” Coady told The Telegraph. “Not just for myself, but for the club as well. I just felt they were on a new path,” he says.

“They were onto a new way of doing things, and I said that to them. They understood it as much as me, I’ll always have that connection because I love the place to bits. Eight years is a long time in football and not many players do that.
