EvertonFunds will be made available during the January transfer window as a result of the 777 takeover upgrade.

Sean Dyche has shared that there hasn’t been a “massive amount of finance” at Everton regarding possible funds for the January transfer window amid the ongoing 777 Partners takeover process.

The Toffees boss, speaking in his press conference on Thursday (2 November, via Liverpool ECHO), shared that he Kevin Thelwell and the recruitment staff are constantly in talks about plans to strengthen but haven’t spoken about the bigger picture regarding the impending takeover.

The Premier League are doing due diligence on 777 Partners after they agreed a takeover deal with majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and the regulatory process could well be concluded as far as December (Alan Myers, 16 October).

After being asked if funds would be made available in the January transfer window to strengthen the squad, Dyche seemed coy about the situation.

He said: ‘Me and Kev[in Thelwell] and the recruitment staff, we talk about things.

”But no we are not talking about all the bigger picture stuff, that is to come over the next few months. We will see, at the moment, there hasn’t been a massive amount of finance there, that is quite obvious. I think we have done well by making finance come into the club by balancing players coming in and out of the club.

“We will have to wait and see.”

Anxious wait

With the decision said to be possibly made in December regarding the 777 takeover, Everton fans now have a clear timeline picture in place, where they now know when they can expect news about the takeover and whether it will or won’t be approved by the relevant regulatory bodies.

However, while that rambles on and it gets closer and closer to the January transfer window, fans will also be anxiously waiting for everything to be sorted so that Dyche will have a clear picture of how much resources he would need to strengthen.

Right now, Everton are in great spirits after recent results but that certainly won’t mean Dyche will rest on his laurels as he aims to get the Toffees back to competing near the top eight and in order to do that, he will need to spend and strengthen several areas of the squad.

Judging by Dyche’s comments, it seems he already has an idea of what he wants and what areas need strengthening but even he is left in a state of flux right now regarding the decision of the club’s possible takeover.

Everything hinges on that regulatory decision, one which could make or break the club’s long-term future and plans.

What’s guaranteed though is, that Dyche can only control what is in front of him now and given the noise behind the scenes at Goodison Park, he’s doing quite well.

In other Everton news, six Brighton players have been declared “ruled out” for Saturday’s crucial Premier League clash at Goodison Park.
