Marks & Spencer is set to sponsor Ryan Reynolds‘ Wrexham FC.
The upmarket supermarket has joined forced with the Hollywood actor in their first ever local football club partnership.
The three season deal will support families and children across the local community with community-led.
The British high street stalwart already have a long standing history with the Welsh city, having worked with their neighbouring Village Bakery for over 15 years.
As part of their continued commitment to Wrexham, the supermarket chain is also set to open an M&S Foodhall on December 1, providing 120 jobs in the area.
Ryan Reynolds, Wrexham AFC co-chairman, said: ‘Our partnership with M&S Food is important to Rob [McElhenney, co-owner] and I, due to its established history with Wrexham and its commitment to supporting the local community.
‘The connection we have to the club and its supporters is something we’re deeply proud of.
‘It’s essential we partner with a brand who understands the broader goals for the community as a whole and is committed to making positive changes.’
M&S Food Director of Marketing & Hospitality, Sharry Cramond, explained that it made sense for Wrexham and M&S Food to partner-up following their 80 years of trading in Wrexham.
She said: ‘We love how changing fortunes at Wrexham AFC have energised the city and we’re incredibly excited by the opportunities our first-ever local football club partnership gives us to further support the local community in Wrexham.’
